Temporary Road Closure – Swanton Street, Bredgar – 8th July 2020

To allow clearance works to be carried out on blocked ducts to facilitate spine cabling works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Swanton Street, Bredgar.

A closure is planned from 8th July 2020, with estimated completion by 14th July 2020, or where stated on a valid Permit (BC111WBJKHN7X001 - BT). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage on site and the works will be displayed on one.network

The road will be closed from outside number 1 Swanton Cottages to outside Swanton Old House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Swanton Street, The Street, Primrose Lane, Bredgar Road, Hearts Delight Road, Wrens Road, Sutton Baron Road, Pond Farm Road, Oad Street, Stockbury Valley, Sittingbourne Road, Detling Hill, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout M20 Junction 7, Newnham Court Roundabout, Bearsted Road, Ware Street, The Green, Roundwell, Ashford Road, Eyhorne Street, Upper Street, Hollingbourne Hill, Court Dane Shaws, Court Danes Shaw and vice versa.

Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while clearance works on blocked ducts to facilitate spine works are undertaken by BT.
