This is a message from Neighbourhood Watch to West Downs Ward.
Census Day is coming, and Households across the UK are currently receiving letters which include a unique 16-digit code to access the census online.
As you may know, National Census Day is on the 21 March but households across the UK are already receiving their letters.
As the census is designed to find out personal details, criminals may use it as an opportunity to commit fraud and identity theft via phishing emails or texts.
Please note you will never be contacted by email, text or phone – only letter.
Sometime after the 21 March the second stage of the census will kick in, which is where field officers will be visiting the homes of people who haven’t completed the census. After another grace period, fines can be issued to those who still haven’t done it.
A rogue trader came to a door in Ospringe and claimed to work for “Martin Wakefield”. MARTIN WAKEFIELD told Police that the male does not work for him and they had sold the van some time ago. Informant called the rogue trader, and he was abusive with her over the phone.
